Chief Legal Counsel and Vice President, Strategic Alliances


Melinda Griffith is chief legal counsel at the Parker Institute, as well as the vice president of Strategic Alliance Management. She has extensive experience leading the business development, licensing, legal and compliance activities of diagnostic, life sciences and device companies. She began her biotech career at Cetus Corporation, which invented the Nobel prize-winning PCR Technology. She went on to direct PCR licensing programs (300+ licensees, $100+ million annual royalty revenue) as head of business development, law and licensing for Roche’s molecular diagnostic business for almost a decade.

Melinda’s background includes practice of the corporate and transactional law with the firms of Bingham McCutchen and Hall, McNicol, Hamilton & Clark. Melinda holds a JD from University of California, Hastings College of Law, and a BS from University of California, Berkeley. She is admitted to the bars of New York and California.
